preservation of cultural and natural heritage around the world which is
considered to be of outstanding value to humanity. This Private Tour
visits all the places, in Portugal, classified by UNESCO as World
Heritage Sites. There are 11 different locations: Jerónimos
Monastery, Belém Tower, Sintra, Évora, Alcobaça,
Batalha, Tomar, Porto, Douro Wine Region, Foz Côa and
Guimarães.
DAY 1: Welcome to
Portugal
A tour guide will be waiting for you at the Lisbon International
Airport to give you a warm welcome, and to
escort you to the hotel in Lisbon.

DAY 2: Lisbon
Breakfast buffet at the hotel.
Lisbon is the capital and the largest city of Portugal. We can start to
discover Belém. Here you will visit the Belém Tower, one
of the most expressive monuments of Lisbon, followed by the well-known
Monastery of Jerónimos, considered one of the most beautiful
monuments of Portugal. Then we proceed to "Praça do
Comércio" directly to Alfama, the Fado district. We continue to
downtown, up to "Marquês de Pombal", passing by the famous
Liberdade Avenue.

DAY 3: Obidos /
Alcobaca / Batalha / Porto
Breakfast buffet at the hotel.
From Lisbon you will travel to north, towards Porto.
First stop at Óbidos, a beautiful medieval village located on a
hill and encircled by
a fortified wall. At Alcobaça and Batalha two important UNESCO
monuments: the Monastery of Alcobaça, a huge church which is a
symbol of the Portuguese History and awarded in 1989; and the Monastery
of Batalha, one of the most original examples of Late Gothic
architecture in Portugal and listed in 1983. Departure to Porto.

DAY 4: Porto
Breakfast buffet at the hotel.
On this day you will join a private guided tour to the Historic Centre
of Porto, listed as UNESCO heritage in 1996. Discover its most
important monuments, sites and beaches, such as Luis I bridge and the
typically Portuguese Manueline-style Church of Santa Clara.
The tour continues to Calém Port Wine Cellars where you will
taste the Port Wine and at the same time enjoy a lovely Fado show.

DAY 5: Braga /
Guimarães / Porto
Breakfast buffet at the hotel.
We will visit the Minho region, one of the greenest region in Portugal,
with its spetaculars manors and traditions. Today we go to Braga and
Guimarães. In Braga, discover the majesty of the Cathedral and
the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus with its Baroque stairway. Then, explore the
Historic Centre of Guimarães, declared a World Heritage Site in
2001, and visit the most emblematic sites of this “Cradle
City” such as "Paços dos Duques". Built in the 15th
century by D. Afonso’s orders, 1st Duke of Braganca. Its
architectural style reflected the tastes that he had acquired in his
trips through Europe, however the building passed through some changes
during “Estado Novo” period by Salazar’s orders.
Return to Porto.

DAY 6: Douro Valley region

Douro was considered as the Best European River Destination by
Huffington
Post in 2013. We will depart from Porto heading north east towards
Régua, located in the Douro Wine Region. Already in Douro region
we will start with a visit to Tedo estate, located in the confluence of
Tedo and Douro rivers, between Regua and Pinhão. This estate is
the only one that has organic agriculture and produces Port, table
wines and olive oil. Follows Pacheca estate visit, one of the most
known Douro property, which stands out for being the first one to
bottle up wines with its own brand. Featured for being one of the few
plain wine areas.

DAY 7: Upper Douro
Region (Douro Côa)
Breakfast buffet at the hotel.
The route continues to the village of S. João da Pesqueira,
considered
the "heart of the Douro Wine Region", with probably the most stunning
view of the entire region. Visit Foz Côa and discover the Quinta
de Ervamoira, an estate situated within the Archaeological Park of Foz
Côa, classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1998. You
will also learn about the history of the estate and its wines.
Then we will visit the Côa Museum. A building of the
Archaeological
Park of Coa Valley, founded in 2010, perfectly integrated in the great
beauty of the natural landscape. Inside you will be able to see
the prehistoric time art through several well preserved stone
engravings.

DAY 8: Coimbra / Tomar
/ Lisbon
Breakfast buffet at the hotel.
Coimbra is also known as the city of the students. The University of
Coimbra is the oldest academic institution in the Portuguese-speaking
world and the newest World Heritage Site of Portugal (listed in 2013).
Explore this University and other emblematic monuments of this town.
Then, you will visit Tomar, the last Templar town to be commissioned
for construction. Its Convent of Christ was listed as a UNESCO site in
1983. Departure to Lisbon.

DAY 9: Lisbon / Sintra / Lisbon
Breakfast buffet at the hotel.
Sintra is a romantic village at the edge of the Sintra Mountain Range
and its unique characteristics have made it a UNESCO World Heritage
Site since 1995.
This guided tour includes a visit to Sintra National Palace and to the
stunning landscapes of this Park.

DAY 10: Lisbon / Alentejo / Lisbon
Breakfast buffet at the hotel.
Finally, you head to the landscapes of the Alentejo, known for its
golden plains, towards Evora. The Historic Centre of Évora was
declared a UNESCO Heritage in 1986. Explore this place, visiting the
Roman Temple, the Church of S. Francisco and the Bones Chapel. To call
it a day at last we will visit Évora’s Cathedral, built in
granite was only completed in 1250 (began to be built in 1186).
Religious building marked by the transition between the Romanic and
gothic architecture styles. Classified as national monument in 1910.
Return and accommodation in Lisbon.
DAY 11: Returning Home
Breakfast in the hotel.
Private transfer from the hotel to the International Airport of Lisbon.
